Who: Dr. Gregory Bays Brown, the former plastic and reconstructive surgeon who founded the skincare product company RéVive, isn’t your average doctor-turned-night-cream-hawker. Not only was Shane Jimrattie hit at least 57 times in the head and neck with a hammer, he was cut up with the precision of a skilled butcher. It was this gory description from a pathologist in Quebec Superior Court Friday that sent the victim's pale sister stumbling out of the room in tears. The body parts came to pathologist Caroline Tanguay in four green garbage bags, which were found in the trunk of a white Ford Explorer. Jimrattie's legs, severed below the knee, his socks and boots still on his feet, were in one bag.

Conventional wisdom has historically been that the adult brain lacked "neuroplasticity" - the ability to remold itself. But scientists are finding that it's far more flexible than thought. Our behavior, environment and possibly even thought patterns can cause the brain to significantly rewire and reorganize. The hippocampus, essential to learning and long-term memory, is one area active in new nerve cell development. Scientific American Mind, February/March, 2009, reports on six healthy habits to help enhance your brain power based on this new understanding.

On condition of anonymity, a Mumbai-based, 23-year-old girl shares her experience. “I was about to get married and had gone to Dr Meenakshi Agarwal for skin polishing. I’d seen in magazines that the inner labia in my vagina should not stick out. When compared to those pictures, mine was uneven; it used to look weird whenever I wore tight leggings. I was always conscious about this, but didn’t know where to seek help. I remembered reading something online about vaginal cosmetic surgery which could fix the shape of my genital structures.

Of course there's nothing wrong with a whiff of tulle, a hint of lace or flowery embroidery, but lingerie mostly cries for a more contemporary feel. Fortunately, two emerging lines fill this void, offering modern creations that don't sacrifice femininity or sex appeal.
